– 11:00 – Students arrive at music department (Students get lunch and change into concert dress)

– 4:30-5:30 – Return from Graduation

Spring Concert, Wednesday 6/4

Next Wednesday is the Orchestra Spring Concert and Awards Ceremony.  The concert starts at 7:00 pm.  Call time for students is 6:15 pm on stage (Pixar seating)

Pieces on the program include – Music from Wicked, Downton Abbey, music from Disney’s Pixar movies, and more.

FCHS alumni, Andrea Lockard, will be performing Vivaldi’s Spring from the Four Seasons.

Students will be honored for their achievements in orchestra throughout this school year.  Mr. Lisowski will also name the recipients of the Director’s Award for Orchestra and the National School Orchestra Award.

Orchestra Final Exam

The final will take place during class on the scheduled exam day.  The final is worth 5% of the student’s final grade.

Seniors – June 9
Underclass – June 19 (Half-day for students)

Please use the Midterm and the Assessment Written Assignment as study tools.  Mr. Lisowski will pull material from both assignments to make up the Final Exam.

The final consists of 6 parts -
Section 1 – Identifying terms
Section 2 – Writing out rhythmic dictation
Section 3 – Identifying musical notation
Section 4 – Writing out a one-octave scale
– Chamber – Scale will be major or minor up to 3#’s and 3b’s
– Concert – Scale will be a major scale up to 3#’s and 3b’s
Section 5 – Identifying composers’ genres
Section 6 – Matching pieces with composers

Chamber Orchestra Auditions 2014-2015 School Year

The auditions for Chamber Orchestra for the 2014-2015 School Year are this week.  Please sign up for a time slot.  The sign-up sheet is located outside Mr. Lisowski’s office.

Audition Times – 10 minute time slots
Tuesday – 5/20 – 2:30 – 4:00 pm
Wednesday – 5/21 – 4:00 – 7:00 pm
Thursday – 5/22 – 2:30 – 4:00 pm

All students who want to be in Chamber Orchestra are required to audition for the ensemble.
